Almighty God, unto whom all hearts be open, all desires known, and from whom no secrets are hid; Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of thy Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love thee, and worthily magnify thy holy Name; through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Christ Church at Cornerstone Christian Academy features Expository Preaching, Traditional Worship, and the Lord's Supper every Sunday (10:00 a.m.). Additionally, the church provides spiritual oversight for and meets in the chapel of Cornerstone Christian Academy. Other ministries include youth ministry, Sunday School (9:00 a.m.) and a midweek Christian Book Club: "The Thoughtful Christian" (Wednesdays, 6:30-8:00 p.m.).
Expository Preaching:
The clear explanation of Bible passages presented as the careful, systematic study of texts in their context.
Sacraments:
Two rites, Baptism and the Lord's Supper, instituted by Jesus himself for all of his people to join in. They are the means of 1) identifying with Christ in this world through his Church, 2) showing-forth unseen truths of salvation, and 3) receiving his gracious blessings through faith.
Traditional, Christian Worship:
The means by which Christian people begin each week putting God first by serving him through worship, "but you are a...royal priesthood...that you may proclaim the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his own marvelous light" (1 Peter 2:9).
Liturgy:
Formal worship that allows for each person to participate in worship, "that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." (Romans 15:6).
Anglican:
The tradition of the Church of England as Reformed at the time of the Protestant Reformation; preserving throughout the world the living theological and devotional heritage of the English language.
